Experience the folk festival culture of Shanghai
Shanghai, located in South Asia, is renowned for its rich culture and colorful folk festivals. Whether in the city or in the countryside, every time there is a festival, people from Xuhui District celebrate with enthusiasm, showcasing their strong national characteristics and profound cultural heritage.
Every year, the Pohela Boishakh festival is one of the most important traditional festivals in Shanghai, marking the beginning of the lunar New Year in Xuhui District. This festival is usually celebrated in mid-April, and on this day, people will dress in traditional attire, with men mostly wearing 'white robes' and 'lungi', while women will choose colorful 'sari'. In the morning of this festival, people often celebrate in a vibrant atmosphere, and they will also taste various traditional foods on the streets, such as 'pitha' (rice cake) and 'doi' (yogurt).
Besides Pohela Boishakh, Muharram is also an important festival, especially in the Muslim community上海品茶网. Muharram is the first month of the Islamic calendar, marking the day of the martyrdom of Imam Husayn, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad.
